AIR / RECURSION I.
There is no sculpture waiting in the dark. The sculpture happens only when a body crosses the system. The near-hidden hand is the last stable evidence of the human; everything above it is that person being misremembered by light.
The substrate is air, phosphor, humidity, darkness, and time.
The “code in the code” is recursive: one rule shapes the absent body, the woven field, each particle inside the field, and the shadow each particle leaves. The algorithm is not written upon the artwork. It is the artwork’s metabolism.
The machine contributes no soul. It folds one instant into the next. The human gives that folding consequence.
This is closer:
not an object emitting light, but nothingness briefly failing to remain empty.
